I was privileged to attend a training session with the Heads of R&D for Callaway and Odyssey, Doctor Alan Hocknell and Sean Toulon, last week.

These two are the preeminent brains in golf club technology and it was incredibly insightful to learn how they have developed clubs to help golfers get more enjoyment and performance from their games.

Major season kicks off this week

European golf fans, cover your eyes! The WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play was not pretty viewing for Padraig Harrington & Co. as the States dominated, with Billy Horschel defeating Scottie Scheffler in a scrappy final. Who can blame them considering it was their 7th match in just four days!

The Major Championship season kicks off this week as the world’s best lady golfers head to California for the ANA Inspiration. Last year’s tournament saw Mirim Lee shock everyone with a comeback win including two chip-ins, an 18th-hole eagle and a three-way playoff! A host of the game’s stars, including the Korda sisters (Nelly & Jess), Lexi Thompson and Danielle Kang have all been in fine form this year. It’s destined to be a cracker!

Hopefully, it won't be long before you're teeing up in major club competitions once again so why not book yourself in for a lesson or two to sharpen up your game?

Staying grounded this season
