Our Staff
John Eyre - Class AA Professional
John Eyre is the club's PGA Professional and is widely regarded as one of the finest golf tutors in the North of England. John became a fully Qualified AA PGA Professional in 1994, was the HHDGA Stroke-Play champion in 1997 and runner-up in the Match-Play Championship of 2005. His fine reputation for coaching has resulted in him heading up coaching for the Halifax, Huddersfield District Union of Golf Clubs Men's and Junior teams, as well as a number of professional players; and John is also in the Yorkshire coaching squad where he teaches the Yorkshire Young Intermediates. Rest assured though, such impressive credentials do not restrict him from enjoying teaching club golfers of any standard. John also specialises in putting clinics through his involvement with puttingzone.com, for whom he is the English National Putting Coach. Woodsome Hall Golf Club has invested in covered bays on the practice ground, and John has developed an indoor putting facility and fully equipped swing bays. Together with his assistant Adam Durie, John is keen to welcome everyone to view the impressive new facilities that have been created.
George Langley-Webb - Assistant PGA Professional
George joined the team recently from Leeds Golf Centre where he began his PGA training. George has played the majority of his golf under the HHDUGC being a member at Crow Nest Park Golf Club since he was 5, being the first junior to come through Paul Everitt’s Diamond Golf Academy. George has extensive knowledge on major golf brands and equipment in particular Titleist, PING and TaylorMade. George is currently heading up Junior Development and Ladies Get into Golf going into 2025, so if you've a junior looking to get into golf or you're a Lady interested in golf, he's the man to speak to!
